Our Governors

Mrs Jodie Flynn
Staff Governor - Headteacher.
I initially joined Heamoor Primary School as Acting Deputyhead in September 2013 at the request of the Local Authority. The following year I was appointed as Headteacher and I am very proud of the journey the school is on.
Prior to this, I have was the Deputyhead of a large primary school in Camborne for 8 years and in amongst that time, I also had experience as Acting Headteacher of another local Penzance school.
I graduated from University in 1999 and have taught in a variety of primary school settings across the Key Stage 2 age range in my home county of Staffordshire before moving to Cornwall in 2005.
Staff, parents, pupils and governors have come a long way together since I joined and, together with the Governing Body, we are all determined to ensure that our children receive the very best education possible. Therefore, as part of the Governing Body I provide relevant information, am held to account for actions taken and work with them to effectively self-evaluate our school and consider the impact of the actions that are taken. I am extremely proud of our school and I am excited to continue to be part of our effective, nurturing and dedicated team.
Outside of school, I enjoy anything that will channel my creativity, jewellery making, painting with acrylics, baking. I also love walking with my dog, the tranquility of gardening or getting lost in a book. A work life balance is a struggle but I love this job and this school so do it willingly with the support of my husband and daughter.

Mr Jeff Davis
Associate Governor
Jeff began his teaching career in 1979 and has worked in a range of different schools from large estate schools to smaller rural schools. He has been working with the local authority as a consultant since 2006 and is frequently asked to support schools where governors are in difficulty. To date he has supported 12 schools in this role as interim chair and so is a very experienced and valuable person to have as part of our board. Jeff also works as a coach for the Achievement for All programme.
